One of the most powerful dynamics of the Inheriting the Nations School is community, and with this in mind the Orama Christian Centre on the Great Barrier Island in New Zealand, provides us with an idyllic environment for the school (see www.orama.org.nz for more information). True Christian community is not about trying to change other people, quite the contrary, it's about loving and accepting people as they are, loving them into the fullness of their true design and identity as Father's sons and daughters.

Jesus said, "Love one another as I have loved you." We can easily make the error of changing that which was supposed to be life-giving into a life-draining obligation - as if we could somehow in our own strength love the way Jesus loves. We miss the profoundness of Jesus' words; "Only as you are loved by me, do you have the capacity to love others" (paraphrase). Similarly, as we dwell in the unfolding reality of Father's love and acceptance, His capacity to unconditionally love and accept others unfolds within us.

Living 24/7 in community precipitates deeper levels of vulnerability than we are normally comfortable with, unveiling our hearts and allowing ourselves and others to see who we really are! As Father

gently highlights areas that He wants to lovingly transform, it's not always a comfortable

process! Sometimes He works through us to bring change in the lives of others, but

usually it's inspite of us and often without us even knowing. Community at the

Inheriting the Nations School is not about, "How can I change you?" rather it's

all about, "Father I need You to meet with and transform my heart!" When He

transforms our hearts with His love, our behaviour changes automatically!
